Американский армейский вездеход JLTV был признан непригодным для использования в войсках. Об этом говорится в отчете Минобороны США, сообщает Defence blog. Броневик разрабатывался фирмой Oshkosh для замены армейского HMMWV, также известного под названием «Хаммер».

Комиссия в ходе испытаний бронемашины обнаружила большое количество недостатков и конструктивных недоработок. В докладе отмечается, что JLTV не подходит для эксплуатации из-за низкой надежности, проблем с управлением и безопасностью. С другой стороны, военные отмечают, что снизилось количество производственных дефектов на один выпущенный автомобиль: с 14,6 в сентябре 2016 года до 1,3 в сентябре 2018 года.
Серийное производство JLTV для армии США может быть организовано только после устранения всех недостатков. Броневик имеет полную боевую массу 6,4 тонны. Под капотом размещен 6,6-литровый дизельный двигатель, позволяющий развивать максимальную скорость 110 км/ч, запас хода составляет 480 км.
Машина пригодна для десантирования на парашютных системах и перевозки по воздуху. Стандартное бронирование позволяет защищать экипаж от огня стрелкового оружия. JLTV устойчив к подрыву на минах и фугасах.
