На плацу 103-й воздушно-десантной бригады в Витебске 15 февраля представили новинку белорусской военной промышленности — девять бронированных машин «Кайман».
БТР укомплектованы гранатометами. Видеокамеры обеспечивают экипажу круговой обзор. «Кайман» весит около 8 тонн, может разогнаться до 100 километров в час, умеет плавать — со скоростью 7 километров в час. Двигатель — мощностью 170 лошадиных сил.
Машина не уступает, а по ряду показателей и превосходит аналоги в вооружении зарубежных армий. Машина проста в управлении.
— Все, что мы творили с этой машиной, все, что нам от нее было надо, она обеспечила. Солдата мы взяли из школы. Отличник он, двоечник — неважно. Он в состоянии ее освоить, разобраться с ней и давать результат. Это самое главное. Когда он (боец) перемещается в броне, подрыв фугасов, стрельба из стрелкового оружия ему не страшны — он защищен. Когда мы ездили на МАЗах — при такой опасности была бы смерть. А эта машина дает защиту, — отметил командующий Силами специальных операций Вооруженных сил Беларуси генерал-майор Вадим Денисенко.
По его словам, через месяц-полтора «Кайманы» оснастят пулеметными модулями.
103-я бригада входит в Коллективные силы оперативного реагирования ОДКБ, потому витебские десантники первыми в Беларуси получили новинку отечественного военпрома. Ожидается, что летом БТР поступят их коллегам в Бресте.
