Южная Корея планирует к 2024 году начать внедрение боевых роботов, имитирующих животных, змей и насекомых. Об этом сообщает РБК со ссылкой на агентство Yonhap.

Как говорится в докладе Агентства по программам закупок вооружений, Южная Корея активизирует усилия по разработке военных роботов, имитирующих животных и других существ. При этом будет использоваться технология, известная как биомиметика, позволяющая копировать уникальные функции и процессы живых организмов.
Ожидается, что созданные по образу птиц, змей и других существ военные роботы впоследствии станут частью вооруженных сил страны. Первые образцы планируется запустить уже в 2024 году.
Представитель Агентства по закупкам вооружения пояснил Yonhap, что роботы, обладающие биометрическими данными, смогут поменять расстановку сил в случае военных действий. Он также отметил, что их планируется применять в поисково-спасательных и разведывательных операциях, поскольку «животные были оптимизированы в течение миллионов лет для выживания».
