Кардиологи раскрыли итоги масштабного исследования, изучив связь между возникновением гипертонии и пассивным курением.

Стойкого повышения артериального давления можно избежать, если полностью ограничить себя от пассивного курения, заявил ученый из Сеула. Автором исследования стал профессор Бенг Джин Ким из Университета Сонгюнгван, изучивший показатели более 130 тысяч человек. Его заявление прозвучало на конгрессе Европейского общества кардиологов (ESC) EuroHeartCare-2019, пишет Medical Xpress.

«Чтобы защититься от гипертонии, нужно полностью избегать пассивного курения, а не просто уменьшить его воздействие», — заявил Бенг Джин Ким.

По его словам, в противном случае пассивное курение увеличивает риск появления гипертонии в среднем на 13%. А если прожить в одной квартире с курильщиком 20 лет, то риск возрастет до 15%. Чаще всего люди подвергаются воздействию чужого сигаретного дыма на работе и у себя дома.

При этом работники Университетского колледжа Лондона отмечают, что рак легких у некурящих людей является очень сложным для диагностики. Причем, пассивное курение считается одной из главных причин появления рака у некурящих, пишет Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine.

Ранее лучшей профилактикой рака медики назвали отказ от курения.
