6 августа в Бресте началось рассмотрение гражданского дела об определении места жительства 4-летнего Декстера Кузьмича.

Рассмотрение проходило в закрытом режиме. На этом настояла адвокат матери ребенка Елены Кузьмич, сославшись на то, что дело затрагивает интересы несовершеннолетнего. Ее поддержала представитель органов опеки, которая, кстати, выступила с иском об отобрании ребенка у родителей. Сторона отца же, напротив, призывала сделать процесс открытым. После совещания суд решил закрыть заседание.
Рассмотрение продолжалось четыре часа. В зале выступали свидетели со стороны органов опеки. 6 августа вопрос, с кем будет жить мальчик, так и не решился. В суде объявили перерыв до 20 августа — для исследования доказательств.
Это время ребенок проведет в приюте.

Женщина на 15 часов закрылась с ребенком в легковой машине и вышла из нее, только когда в ситуацию вмешались органы опеки. В итоге мальчика забрали в приют до решения суда.
