Крупнейший в мире пассажирский самолет показали в закрытом режиме на предприятии концерна в штате Вашингтон. Первый полет лайнера Boeing 777-9X запланирован на второй квартал 2019 года. Он оснащен складными крыльями для хранения в ангаре. Эта модель является самым большим в мире лайнером с двумя двигателями, пишет CNN.
Boeing 777-9X оснащен новыми двигателями GE9X и крыльями из композитных материалов. Его длина составит 69,8 м или 76,7 м — в зависимости от версии. Размах крыла достигает 71,8 м, а в сложенном состоянии — 64,8 м. Его максимальная взлетная масса достигает 351,5 т. Лайнер способен преодолевать расстояние до 16,1 тыс. км и перевозить до 414 пассажиров.
Сначала Boeing 777X намеревались показать 11 марта 2019 года, но затем перенесли мероприятие после того, как лайнер Boeing 737 разбился в Эфиопии.
