Космический корабль Dragon-2 стартовал с мыса Канаверал во Флориде и направился к МКС. Он несет на борту порядка 180 кг грузов, а также облаченный в скафандр человеческий манекен, который назвали Рипли, в честь героини фильма Джеймса Кэмерона «Чужие». В Twitter-аккаунте компании SpaceX сообщили об успешном приземлении ракеты-носителя Falcon 9, которая вывела корабль в космос.

На Рипли установили аппаратуру, которая зафиксирует, насколько полет окажется безопасным для человека. В ближайшее время Dragon-2 должен осуществить стыковку с МКС.
В случае успешного завершения миссии, SpaceX протестирует в апреле 2019 года систему аварийного прекращения полета. А на июлю 2019-го намечен запуск Dragon-2 в космос с живым экипажем, передает «РБК».
Ранее сообщалось, что способный на короткое время выходить в космос самолет британца Ричарда Брэнсона впервые совершил полет с пассажиром.
