Члены Минской городской организации Партии «Справедливый мир» обратились в Мингорисполком с предложением назвать одну из улиц в Минске именем физика, нобелевского лауреата Жореса Алферова. Об этом сообщается на сайте партии.
1 марта скончался Жорес Иванович Алферов — выдающийся физик, Нобелевский лауреат, академик РАН, известный общественный деятель. Члены Минской городской организации Партии «Справедливый мир» предлагают назвать его именем улицу в Минске, — строящуюся или проектируемую.

«Немаловажным считаем и тот факт, что белорусская столица не была для Жореса Ивановича Алферова чужой: с ней его связывала школьная и частично институтская часть его жизни (в Минске он закончил мужскую школу — ныне это гимназия № 42, носящая его имя — и несколько курсов БПИ-БНТУ), именно здесь он сделал самый важный жизненный выбор — физику, ставшую его призванием и его судьбой», — сказано в письме партии.
