Пресс-секретарь президента России Дмитрий Песков заявил, что владение смартфоном предполагает «полную прозрачность», которой у главы государства быть не должно. Об этом он рассказал в интервью телеканалу «Россия-24».

На вопрос о том, есть ли у президента Владимира Путина смартфон, Песков ответил: «Насколько я знаю, нет». Пресс-секретарь главы государства охарактеризовал владение смартфоном как «эксгибиционизм, причем добровольный», полную прозрачность и согласие «выставлять все на всеобщий показ».
«Соответственно, это не должно быть у президента, тем более такой страны, как Россия. И у такого президента, как Путин», — сказал Песков. Он добавил, что «старые добрые телефоны закрытой правительственной связи все смартфоны переживут».
По его словам, Путин получает информацию как из «папок с распечатками», так и из телевизионных дайджестов. «Ну и сам президент тоже, он может и в компьютере посмотреть интернет», — добавил Песков.
Сам Путин рассказал, что у него нет смартфона, в феврале. Тогда на заседании Совета по науке и образованию член-корреспондент РАН Михаил Ковальчук обратил внимание на то, что для обработки голосового сообщения смартфону, который есть «у каждого в кармане», необходимо столько же энергии, сколько и для кипячения литра воды.
«Вы сказали, что у всех смартфоны есть, а у меня нет смартфона. И у вас нет. Видите? А ведь у всех есть», — ответил президент.
