Разработчики отечественной операционной системы «Эльбрус» запустили ее в открытое тестирование на безвозмездной основе.

На сайте компании-разработчика в лице «МЦСТ Эльбрус» появились загрузочные файлы новой операционной системы в открытом доступе. Ранее их тестировали государственные служащие на устройствах с процессорами «Эльбрус», сообщает Trashbox.ru. Теперь же пользователям предлагаются дистрибутивы для любого компьютера.

Минимальные требования у российской операционной системы весьма скромные: 1 ГБ оперативной памяти, 40 ГБ свободного места на жестком диске и совместимый с VGA видеоинтерфейс.

ОС «Эльбрус» была создана на базе ядра Linux и сейчас доступна для процессоров с архитектурой х86. Ожидается, что в дальнейшем будет опубликована в открытом доступе версия «операционки» 4.0, основанная на ядре Linux с индексом 4.9. Также стала доступна и документация по установке на русском языке.

Ранее корпорация Microsoft полностью отказалась от поддержки смартфонов на своей операционной системе.
