Впервые Samsung рассказала о MicroLED год назад, показав 146-дюймовый «первый в мире модульный телевизор». Новая 75-дюймовая модель стала меньше, практичнее и получила шансы поместиться в обычную гостиную.

В технологии MicroLED экран состоит из плиток-модулей, которые крепятся к задней поверхности. Каждый микроскопический диод дает свой свет. Таким телевизорам не нужна общая подсветка сзади панели, это позволяет сделать устройство исключительно тонким, а еще получить глубокий черный цвет и очень высокую яркость.
MicroLED-модули позволяют изготавливать экраны с любым размером и соотношением сторон. Чтобы продемонстрировать это, Samsung показала 219-дюймовую версию The Wall. «Только посмотрите на размеры этой штуки: люди будто смотрят в окно до потолка», — пишет обозреватель The Verge.

Дисплеи MicroLED сложны в производстве: субпиксели нужно размещать с маленьким «шагом», а один бракованный элемент может испортить весь результат.
Однако Samsung твердо верит, что экраны MicroLED могут широко применяться, даже учитывая то, что пока их производит только одна компания.
Пока The Wall существует только в прототипах и ранних образцах. Производитель пока не сообщает, сколько будет стоить 75-дюймовый MicroLED телевизор. Можно предположить, что немало. Год назад компания обещала, что The Wall появится в продаже через два-три года.
