Председатель Брестского облисполкома Анатолий Лис подписал распоряжение о приостановлении строительства аккумуляторного завода, сообщает сайт облисполкома.
На основании подпункта 2.6 пункта 2 статьи 48 Закона Республики Беларусь от 4 января 2010 г. № 108-З «О местном управлении и самоуправлении в Республике Беларусь», информации Министерства природных ресурсов и охраны окружающей среды Республики Беларусь (письмо от 13 июня 2019 г. № 11−1−6/2642), губернатор решил приостановить строительство объекта «Аккумуляторный завод ООО «АйПауэр» с собственной котельной на природном газе до устранения выявленных нарушений.

Что вообще происходит?
Аккумуляторный завод строит на промышленной площадке «Аэропорт» в свободной экономической зоне «Брест» ООО «АйПауэр». Жители Бреста и нескольких деревень Брестского района считают, что предприятие угрожает их здоровью. С 25 февраля 2018 года каждое воскресенье на площадь Ленина в Бресте приходят противники строительства аккумуляторного завода, которые общаются и обмениваются последними новостями о строительстве предприятия.
29 апреля 2018 года на окраине Бреста, в парке Воинов-интернационалистов, прошел санкционированный властями митинг «Брестчанки против свинца», на который собралось около двух тысяч человек. С тех пор неоднократные попытки противников строительства завода получить разрешение на проведение митинга успехом не увенчались — городские власти под разными предлогами не давали добро.
Ранее председатель Брестского облисполкома Анатолий Лис заявил, что, если будут выявляться нарушения экологического и природоохранного законодательства, аккумуляторный завод под Брестом работать не будет. Позже он сообщил, что завод под Брестом заработает в мае.
